The area around Santa Croce is full of tiny streets where you can find craft shops, framers, restorers and antique shops, but also restaurants and taverns with inviting menus full of classical Italian dishes. The apartment is located in the district of Santa Croce on the eastern edge of Florence's historic city centre. The area got its name from one of the city's most remarkable churches. The neighbourhood of Santa Croce provides a rare glimpse of 'old' Florence with lively markets and tiny leather and artisan workshops, including the flea market (Mercato delle Pulci) at Piazza St. Ambrogio where is the city's second main food market after the Mercato San Lorenzo, is very close and easy to reach by foot as well.
Furthermore, the area is just a stone's throw from some of the city's main cultural attractions such as the Bargello Palace, which houses one of Italy's most important museums, the Casa Buonarroti, (the former home of Michelangelo), Piazza della Signoria, Palazzo Vecchio and Ponte Vecchio, not to forget the magnificent Santa Croce church and museum. In addittion you will be able to enjoy a very large selection of boutique shops, bars and typical restaurants and pizzerias within the city. By night, Santa Croce becomes one of the liveliest parts of town and with its pedestrian zones and illuminated buildings it transforms into the perfect venue for a glass of wine after dinner or an evening stroll. The advantage of choosing an apartment in the area of Santa Croce is that it offers several food stores, supermarkets, laundrettes and individual gift shops as well as it is very well connected by the local public transport service.

La Casa di Greta was a very pleasant discovery. Located a few steps from Piazza Santa Croce (very convenient and quiet location to move freely in the center!), the apartment is a small and pretty jewel that, however, has everything you need for a comfortable and functional couple stay. Moreover, what made the stay even more special is the personal touch that the landlady (very kind and very helpful!) gave to the apartment. For sure, to be taken into consideration for other future stays in the beautiful Florence! Very recommended.

Excellent welcoming. The apartment is very well equipped and very quiet. No noise can be heard. It is ideally located close to the center in a quiet and less touristic area. One can move very easily by foot. You can find shops next door (open until 21h including Sunday). We recommend it.

We loved everything. The accommodation is in an unbeatable location for sightseeing, the area is great. The landlady, Cristiana, is a great hostess, she offered us all kinds of facilities, booked our cab back and was very friendly, excellent. Florence is a beautiful place to visit. Without hesitation, we would repeat the experience. 100% recommended.
